Allie

2011-2026

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we had to say goodbye to our beloved Allie.

Allie was the best dog we could have asked for. When we came home she always met us at the door. Tail wagging and her favorite toy in her mouth. She loved long walks exploring the neighbourhood, chasing her ball in the summer and catching snowballs in the winter. As she got older and arthritis set in she settled for long car rides ready to get out and enjoy a little walk with stops at the beach or a visit to a dog friendly outdoor patio. She was our Velcro dog who just wanted to always be with us.

“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever”

Winston

2016-2026

On February 16th, 2026, Winston Crowe gained his invisible leash. He was the best friend to Matt, travelling to work and everywhere in between with him. He was Alicia’s summertime reading buddy by the pool. He was Rosie’s and Dawns favourite movie snuggle buddy. He was a neighbourhood fan favourite. Most importantly, he was the best family dog, being there for all of life’s major milestones from engagement to wedding and then when we brought home Rosie and Dawn. We were so lucky to have him in our lives for almost ten years, where he never lost his sense of puppy antics as he aged. His goofy spirit and gentle nature are something we will never forget and hold close to us every day. We will love you forever Winsty boy and thank you for choosing us.

Louie

2013-2026

Our sweet Louie was born June 6, 2013, and he left us on January 9, 2026. Louie was our jumping bean, our cuddle bunny and was just the most loving boy. His mission in life was to make us happy. And boy did he ever.. Louie is forever missed by his momma and daddy, his girl and boy, his brother Leo and his kitty playmates Jack and Jeff. Mr. Anderson (Oct 2025) , Dr Zoidberg (Nov 2025) and Agent Smith (May 2018) his kitty best friends were waiting on the other side to have their buddy with them again. Louie was deeply loved and will be forever missed. Til we see you again our goodest boy. XO

Zeus

2012-2026

A wonderful dog had to leave us too soon. He was a great dog that everyone loved, and he loved everyone back especially his buddy, Autumn.

R.I.P. our boy.

Wynton

2010-2026

Wynton found his forever family in 2011 while trying to hide under a table at Animal Aide Cat Rescue. A distinguished gentlemen, an Olympic level jumper, avid chatter to the birds on the other side of the window, and expert level carpet locater when needing to throw up, Wynton spent almost 15 years politely ignoring most people, but adoring his humans on his terms. A frequent flyer at SSAC, he defied medical tests and most diagnosis repeatedly and against all odds. Wynton passed away in the early hours of January 12, 2026, next to his Papa. Beloved by his Mama & Papa, human brother and sister, and recent mentor to his two new furball brothers. Many thanks to Dr. Lucas over the last few years for your confidence and guidance, as well as the rest of the SSAC team. Rest well our sneezy boy. May you always have a fresh glass of water next to you and your red blanket. XOXO

Loki

2014-2026

On January 13th, I said good-bye to my best friend and companion of eleven years.

Loki was my shadow, a joy to be around and aways had a ball in his mouth, ready to play.

He was funny, loved to be chased or to cuddle and nap. His passions were balls, sticks,

freshly fallen snow and his play friend Buddy. Loki was loved and he will be missed every day.

Until we meet again, Loki, know you were always my home.

Lexi

2013-2026

Lexi passed away peacefully, leaving behind paw prints forever on our hearts. She was more than a pet — she was family, a loyal companion, and a constant source of comfort and joy.

Lexi had a special way of brightening every day. Whether it was her excited greetings, gentle presence, playful spirit, or quiet moments curled up close, she made life sweeter simply by being there. Her unconditional love was a gift we will always cherish.

She will be deeply missed in our home and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Though our hearts ache, we are grateful for every walk, every wag, every cuddle, and every beautiful memory.

Run free, sweet Lexi. You were so loved, and you always will be. 🐾💛

Bill

2012-2026

Bill was our first cat. He made such a big impact on us that we got 3 more cats along with him. Bill loved to hang out in the garage and sleep in anywhere he could. Thank you, Dr Gabby and Heather, so much for all of your help and kindness with Bill.

Goodnight Bill, we love you so much❤️

Smokey

2007-2026

My name is Smokey I lived a full loved life with my human mom. I listened to your troubles without judgement. A loyal companion who stood by your side through thick and thin. As the years went by my grey fur turned a lovely shade of silver just like yours. I was there for you during sick days, and in exchange you did the same for me. Thanks to you, I learned how to love and trust people. But no one lives forever, and after nineteen years it's time to say goodbye. Don't cry for me remember the good times we shared. I had a good life. And now it's time for me to cross over, my friends are waiting .Don't be sad I will tell them you said hello. And one day we will be together again.

Boagrius

2012-2026

Bo was the most wonderful part of my life. He loved snuggles, belly rubs, and playing the shell game for treats. He was very smart, and quickly learned tricks like shake paw, sit, high five, and more. He was always happy, playful, and friendly with everyone. Boagrius was such a good boy and not much of anything bothered him, except for baths. The best parts of my day were coming home to him waiting for me to play with him and his favorite toys and waking up to his purring-snores in the morning. I loved Boagrius very much and he will be deeply missed.

A very big thank-you to Dr. Maureen and her team for giving my fur baby the best possible care during his final moments. Their kindness and level of professionalism helped me through this very difficult and heartbreaking time.

Billy & Rusty

2007-2026 & 2007-2025

Billy and Rusty, beloved brothers, always side by side—snuggling, napping, and keeping us company at night. Rusty was the quiet one, he had such a sweet disposition. Billy was always chatty and wanted to be right up close whenever he could. We miss them deeply and find comfort knowing they’re together, watching over us.

Nikki

2020-2026

Our sweet Nikki was loving cared for by many members of the Southside team.

As Nikki aged, all the care was there to support us.

When we were aware the tough decision regarding her quality of life was necessary, again, we were helped with discussion and plans.

Peacefully Nikki passed surmounted by love and respect.

The support and information provided was exceptional.

Our love from our most grateful family.

Rango

2010-2026

Our gentle, wide-eyed Rango will be missed so very much.
Rango loved being around people. He enjoyed spending time on his couch pillow right between us, having his evening naps. He particularly loved his morning Greenies treats, "brush your teeth Rango".
Over the last year, he had many sad days having lost his sister Winnie and his other housemates. During the last few months, he was telling us he was not feeling well and we were heartbroken to learn how ill he was. He was brave.
Be happy now, our handsome boy ❤️ and we truly hope you saw Winnie waiting for you.

Kiera

2008-2026

Sweet and mild mannered 18-year-old Kiera was our exercise coach, movie watching cuddle buddy and cat treat fanatic. Her only weakness was chewing on plants. We already miss her cute little head popping up from her favourite chair as we enter the house. Now she can reunite with her brother Buster who loved cuddling with her.

Timber

2014-2026

Timber would have been 12 this May 26/26. He had a great personality. His love for balls was his passion. He would sniff out a ball or two wherever we were. He just loved being with us. He would have 3 walks a day (looking for the neighbors with biscuits) even though he had 2 acl surgeries. We took him with us wherever we went. We miss his cuddles and laughing at his antics. T💙MBER 🐾🐾

Zou

2014-2026

Zou was the kindest most chill kitty ever. She was the best cuddle muffin and she was always looking forward to treats and forehead kisses. She is missed by her little sister Willow and me so very much. I know she is getting all kinds of cuddle time now with our loved ones. Xoxo

Odie

2016-2026

Odie Elizabeth Samuel was a bright, spunky, and endlessly lovable little soul who brought joy everywhere he went. Elizabeth was added to his name because Odie carried himself like royalty and, more importantly, he was treated like the Queen he believed himself to be. He was affectionately known as Lizzy, Odie Liz, and, when he was in trouble, he received the full royal onslaught of “Odie Elizabeth Samuel.”

Odie had a personality far bigger than his tiny body. He was friendly, gentle, funny, and full of charm. He was truly the nicest Chihuahua we had ever met, and many people who knew him would say the same. He had a way of winning people over instantly, whether with his sweet eyes, his little attitude, or his quiet confidence that every soft blanket, warm lap, and cozy spot in the house belonged to him.

He was deeply loved and spoiled exactly as he deserved. Odie was family, a constant companion, a little shadow, and a source of comfort through so many years. His presence filled our home, and his absence will be felt in every corner of it.

Odie will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered as our little man.

Diamond

2006-2026

Diamond was such a special part of our family. We miss her so much. Our little Princess. Would like to thank all the staff at Southside for helping us make it a little easier to say goodbye to her that day. We really appreciate everything you all did for us. Thank you from the Dahl/Blackwell family.

Princess

2011-2026

On May third we had to say goodbye to our sweet baby girl Princess after 15 years, it was the hardest day of our lives. She was our cuddle bug, she always followed us around whether it be in the kitchen on the couch in the bedroom or in the washroom. Her favourite things to do were sleeping with her sister in a box or playing in it, and she also loved laying in the bathtub it was so cute. She also loved to lay on us and hide her head in our chests it was so flipping cute. She would always do the funniest things, one of those things was she would meow and sometimes nothing came out or it was a little tiny one you could hardly hear it, it was so cute. We were so blessed to have her for 15 wonderful years. Though she’s not here with us anymore we take great comfort in knowing she’s not suffering anymore. We miss our sweet girl so much but we know one day we will be reunited again. Till then we love you our sweet cuddle bug. 🐱🐾🪽🕊️🌈💕

Stella

2016-2026

Stella was our loyal and loving companion. She enjoyed walks with Dad, her squeaky toys, garden adventures, cuddles, and gently nudging our hands for treats or extra love. We are forever grateful for the wonderful years we shared with you, sweet Stella! You were truly one of a kind and deeply loved!
